Srilankan Civil War

Today I was passing on the news channel, one of the most dreadful news which pierce my heart is about Sri Lankan Civil war. Though some news really affects us but this war which I have been witnessing since my school and college days was really painful. As I was watching the videos and pictures in the war crime affected areas in the YouTube, tears just rolled up from my eyes (am a soft hearted person). Being in the neighbouring country and as a Tamilians could not witness seeing hundreds and hundreds of innocent civilians died out of war… Shame on us..This is really against humanity.

Anyone with stone hearted can only do such terrible things like bombing in NO FIRE ZONE and shooting numerous people in half and full naked, sexual abuse, thousands of dead bodies collecting every day,  many people who are wounded suffered from inefficient medicines. Can’t you believe war  in this century, like first and second world war, many people were mercilessly killed. Though the war is between LTTE and Srilankan Army, but what innocent civilians did? and is it wise to kill few LTTE’s targeting thousands of civilians. Mr.Mahinda Rajapaksa – a heartless creature who have been behind the scenario.

Those who are not aware or not having knowledge what exactly was going on, can refer to the below topics.

How it started

For many years Tamil people or Tamils were migrated to Srilanka and they started their life.In1912, Sinhalese and Tamils were equally populated and they were ruled by British government. Later slowly problem started when government were taken over by Srilankan, they stated official language as ‘Sinhala’. Following which Tamils began to demand that they need a separate independent state as ‘Tamil Eelam’. Meanwhile secretly a new group was originated as ‘Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam’ which is shortly called as LTTE. Later ‘Velupillai Prabakaran’ became the chief of LTTE, he gathered many young youths to strengthen the party. In 1987,India became actively involved in the operation, during this period “Rajiv Gandhi “ was our Prime Minister. And he started (IPKF)Indian Peace Keeping Force but Prabakaran was not convinced and never accepted to surrender the troops.

Due to insecurity, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by LTTE. Guess, thats the reason why still Indian Government keeping silent while all the other countries support peace keeping and rescuing Tamils Out of the War. Many still blame Sonia Gandhi for that reason. The War period from July1983-till May 2009, one of the painful written history.
Am happy that many countries like USA and Europe look into consideration and do
necessary steps for the recovery and i beg India to give support.I neither support Prabakaran nor Sri lankan Army, worry more about the people.

I will be writing on the same issue, but i will not be polite and gentle like you :)
These bloody congress guys are the main reason for such genocide.
SL deliberately accepts that without the help of India, they couldn't have defeated LTTE.
Such a shame that we are voting for people who killed the once Indians...

  2. True ... Unlike the fact that we are indians or Tamilians ... End of Day its the point of humanity ... How can we tolerate such attrocity against innocent people esp women and poor kids !! When i witnessed the video first i felt like why are we helpless , I wish to have authority or a super power to kill those animals from doing this !! But again the fact is all of us esp educated socialistic people stay away from politics , from saving the country ... End of day we ourselves are selfish to live our own happy life watching cricket match !!

  4. ya preethy..well said..Sometimes i really felt whether God really exists(still unknown answer). Specially those people who were behind should be tortured and kill them.Never seen such a government rule who kill their own civilians.
We all are selfish minded unless or until we experience the pain and hurt.

  5. Last week while I was at Sydney I met one of my counterpart at the conference who is a srilankan Tamil. While I asked when he migrated to Australia, he said - 4 years ago when both his dad and brother were killed in the Yaazhpanam war he moved here. He was so reactionless and I didn't know how to react. Apparently his mother never wants to leave the place and she is still in Srilanka. I couln't take this out of my mind since then and it is so difficult to meet someone who has gone through this and to face the reality while we have only read in articles and seen in movies :(((
    Good blog Kriti!

    1. Tats really sad to hear, many people faced pain mentally and physically.
Horrible thing is seeing your dear ones dying in front of you where you are
helpless.A dead of a pregnant lady along with her unborn baby's hand peeking out of her stomache was the horrible or emotional picture i ever witnessed.
